Boothbay Region High School won the West Class C cross country championship on Saturday and Twin Brook Recreation in Cumberland.
Boothbay and Merriconeag were tied with 51 points each, so the outcome of the Regional championship came down to the sixth runner. Kyle Alamo placed 22nd to edge out Merriconeag sixth runner Graham Roeber in 39th place.
Boothbay’s top five runners placed in the top 19, including 5. Joey Paolillo, 9. Kyle Ames, 10. Kyler Carty, 14. Matt Burnham and 19. Trystan Mercier.
Wiscasset’s Brandon Goud placed 31st.
Boothbay girls placed seventh.
Lincoln Academy’s Billy Seaman placed 31st, one place out of qualifying for States.
Medomak Valley’s Gavin Felch placed 20th and qualified for the State Championship, to be held in Belfast on Nov. 1.
