Lincoln Academy boys’ tennis team defeated Waterville 3-2 on May 28 to win the KVAC championship. The Eagles rang the school bell Friday morning in celebration of their win.
Lincoln split their doubles matches with the Purple Panthers Luca Keushguerian and Patrick Williams handed Noah Stinson and Cam Mitchell their first loss of the season at first doubles to take some pressure off the singles players. Tony Ciama and Isaac Vessery lost to Nico Schultz and Matt Lynch in three sets 6-4, 4-6, 0-6.
Abe Hamilton lost to Ashton White at third singles 6-3, 6-2. Jon Sproul came through at second doubles with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Charlie Boyle. Cameron Blake then beat Nate Breton 7-6, 6-2 at first singles to seal the KVAC championships.
Lincoln defeated Waterville 3-2 earlier in the season as well. The Eagles have won the KVAC championship two out of the past three years under Coach Michael Blake, and have won the KVAC championship three out of the past four years.
