Newcastle Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will offer a 2015 Jeep Cherokee as the prize for hitting a hole-in-one on hole three at the seventh annual Bristol Area Lions Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 8, with a rain date of Aug. 9.
Registration forms are available at the Wawenock Golf Club or may be emailed by request by calling 563-7402. The cost is $45 per person for nine holes, and includes a cart and lunch. The lunch will be lobster with corn on the cob, potato salad, and tossed salad.
Other prizes are for the first low gross team and low net team, closest to the pin, longest drive, closest to the lobster trap, closest to the train, and a year’s Wawenock golf membership for a hole-in-one on the eighth hole.
Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and tee time is 9 p.m. with a scramble/shotgun start. Teams of four are encouraged, but single players will be assigned to teams.
Proceeds from the tournament will be used for the Bristol Area Lions Foundation Scholarship Fund, which in June provided four $2,000 scholarships to Lincoln Academy graduates; and to support other local charities.
