Last June at the Bristol Athletic Banquet, a fundraiser was kicked off in a ceremony that reunited Bristol’s first Boys’ and Girls’ Middle School Basketball Champions for a new game clock.
The ceremony was well attended, as most of the players and their coaches were present to receive the Union 74 Championship Banner, which is now displayed under the new clock.
Bristol Basketball Coach Tim Feltis presented the school with a $1500 donation from the players, coaches and fans of those two teams. Through continued fundraising by the Bristol Boosters, Athletic Director Chris Perry and Coach Feltis, the $3000 dollar goal was reached by December 2009 and the clock was purchased.
The clock, banner, pictures of the two teams and a plaque thanking long time math teacher, friend and coach Keith Gould are now displayed on the north end of Bristol Consolidated School’s gymnasium.
The Bristol boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, Chris Perry and Tim Feltis thanks all those involved in making this a successful fundraising effort. A special thanks is also extended to Bob Onorato and Clyde Pendleton for installing the new clock so quickly.
