Central Lincoln County Area (CLAW) wrestler Drew Bryant (155) won the Pine Tree Wrestling League championship on March 21 in Belfast, and Medomak Middle School wrestler Dylan Look (170) place third.
The teams from the West dominated the tournament, taking the top three places. Dirigo won with 132.5, Mt. Valley 116.5, Fryeburg 116, Belfast 100, Ellsworth 77, Brewer 64.5, Gardiner 58.5, Hermon 57, Sugg 54, Oak Hill 43, HAL 41, Oxford Hills 31, Independent 27, Bath 25, CLAW 20, Medomak 20, Monmouth 19, Camden 18, Nokomis 6, Augusta 4, Mt. Ararat 3, and Bucksport 0.
Eight area wrestlers placed in the top four at the Pine Tree East Regional tournament on March 14 to qualify for the championship meet.
Mark Zaccadelli (CLAW 75) lost a 17-0 tech fall to DelGallo (Gar) and was pinned by Booth (Nok) in 1:09 to be eliminated from the tournament.
Zac Rideout (MMS 117) pinned Leslie (Dir) in 3:48, lost a 3-1 decision to Rugg (Fry) in overtime, and was eliminated by Alderson (Bel) by a 4-2 decision.
Cyril Miller (MMS 138) was pinned by Labrecque (OH) and was eliminated by Black (Mon) in 1:27. Travis Reed (MMS 145) drew a bye in the first round, was pinned by Webber (Dir) in 28 seconds and eliminated by Cross (MtV) by 12-5 decision.
Drew Bryant (CLAW 155) pinned Flaherty (Fry) in 1:13, beat Donavan (El) by 6-3 decision in the semifinals to advance to the championship round, where he beat Hosie (MtV) by 6-4 decision to take first place.
Heaven Dow (MMS 155) was pinned by Hosie in 25 seconds and by Dowland (Dir) in 31 seconds.
Dylan Look (MMS 170) pinned Kelly (Bel) in 3:30, was pinned by Irwin (Bre) in 1:47, pinned Chesley (Gar) in 1:37 to advance to the consolation finals. Look pinned Urquhard (Her) in 23 seconds to take third place.
Zack James (MMS 190) was pinned by White (Dir) in 27 seconds and eliminated by Provost (OH) in 35 seconds.
Danielle Lawson (MMS 190) was pinned by Leahy (OH) in 28 seconds and by Brown (Dir) in 33 seconds to be eliminated from the tournament.
