Camden Hills handed Medomak Valley softball their first loss of the season in make-up action at Rockland on Saturday. Desiree Benner (3K, 6B, 9H, 1HP) got off to a rough start, giving up six runs in the 1st inning on 4 hits, 3 walks with 11 batters coming to the plate. Kelsi Severson came on in relief (0R, 2H, 0B, 1K). “She did a great job,” Haley Buckiet collected the win.
Medomak was never able to recover. They scored two runs in the home half of the inning. Vanessa Davis reached on an error and scored on a Lindsay Ranquist RBI sacrifice fly. Kasey Benner singled, Ericka Christensen reached on an error and Alanna Vose drove in K. Benner when she reached on an error. The Panthers added two runs in the 6th on a single to Christensen, error to Vose and two-run double to Jenna Tracy.
Hitting for Medomak were Christensen (2RBI) and Mallory Conary with 2 singles each, Ranquist and Tracy a double each, and Heidi Obuchon, Vose, K. Benner and Taylor Simmons a single each. Hitting for Camden were Haynes with a triple and double, White, Heather Eaton and Olivia Hamalainen 2 hits each, and Buckiet and Bergman a single each.
Hitting for Medomak were Ranquist and Maria Ennamorati with 3 singles each, Dani Hunt and Alanna Vose (2 RBI) a double and single each, Tracy 2 singles, and Obuchon, K. Benner, Christensen, Simmons, Amanda Hendrickson (2RBI) and Severson a single each. Hitting for Rockland were Abbie Hersom and Emma Davis with a single each.
Medomak scored four runs in the 1st, five in the 2nd, seven in the 4th and three in the 5th inning. No details were provided.
Ranquist drove in 4 runs with a triple, 2 doubles and a single, Christensen 2 RBI on a double and single, Davis 2 RBI on 2 singles, Simmons 2 RBI with 2 singles and Ennamorati 2 RBI with a single. Vose hit an RBI single, Tracy an RBI double. Hitting for Mt.View were Murphy with 3, Massessa 2 and Moody a single.
Desiree Benner collected the win (5K, 6H, 3B) and Julie Riordan took the loss (7H, 6K, 1B).
Maria Ennamorati threw out lead off hitter Riordan twice trying to steal second base, once in the 1st and once in the 4th inning.
Medomak took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd. Ericka Christensen walked, stole second, went to third on a throwing error and scored on a Heidi Obuchon ground out. The one run lead held up until the top of the 6th inning, when Winslow plated three runs to take the lead on a single to Vigue, and doubles to Bernard and LeClair. LeClair came home on an error.
The Lady Panthers rallied in the home half of the inning to win. Alanna Vose singled and scored on a Christensen double. K. Benner, who sat on the bench for two games, was medically cleared to play, and entered the game as a pinch hitter. K. Benner smashed the ball over the centerfield fence for her first homerun of the season, to drive in the tying and score the winning run.
Hitting for Medomak were Christensen with a triple and double, K. Benner a homerun, and Vose, Maria Ennamorati, Lindsay Ranquist and Mallory Conary a single each. Hitting for Winslow were Riordan with 2 singles, Bernard and LeClair a double each and Vigue and Richards a single each.
