Camden Wins 35th Annual Rotary Tourney

Camden beat Gardiner 8th, 44-38 in the 35th annual Rotary International Girls’ Basketball Tournament held in Boothbay on March 6-8. Boothbay placed third, and Lawrence won the sportsmanship award.

Belfast won the hot-shot competition, Gardiner was second and Medomak third with Emily Leach and Amanda Hendrickson shooting. Selected to the all tournament team were Lexi Nelligan and Maddie Cummings of Belfast, Sarah Caron and Alex Clarke of Boothbay, Jordan Knowlton, Megan LeGage and Caitlin Sweeting of Camden, Ally Day of Gardiner 7, Taylor Banister, Kylee Granholm and Kelly Moody of Gardiner 8, and Charlotte Escancy of Lincoln.

Gardiner 8th beat Medomak 40-10 in game one, with Kelsey Moody and Elise Wallace named game MVPs.
