Cape Elizabeth boys basketball team pulled out a 44-42 come from behind win to defeat the Medomak Valley Panthers for the State Class B Championship Friday night in Portland.
Medomak led 12-9 at the quarter, 17-15 at the half and trailed 34-29 at the end of three. Medomak opened the fourth quarter with 10 straight points to take the lead
Medomak looked to have the game sewed up with a six point lead with a little over a minute to play. The Panthers self destructed, with three different players missing at the foul line, including the front half of a one on one twice.
Finn Bowe hit a big three pointer with 40 seconds to play, Jack O’Rourke knotted the game for the Capers and Ethan Murphy scored the game winner at the buzzer.
