Winning first low net was the team of Link Page, Phil Page, Rick Gaeth and Alex Gaeth with an incredible score of 47, 23 under par. Of course this score was achieved with the help of handicaps, but it indicates that these guys were making some excellent shots and playing well “over their heads.” Nice going.
It is the Year End Cry Babies Tournament that will be played at 2 p.m. with a shotgun start. It will be a four-person team scramble with no handicaps that will cost only $9 for the cart.
Sharleen Feltis will open the Fairway Restaurant at 5 p.m. for one of her excellent buffets. Former Club Pro and Director of Golf Leon Oliver, created this tournament some years ago and I will never forget his pin placement on the ninth hole. It was on the severe slope near the north west corner of the green. Every putt had to be struck up the slope to the hole, and, if it failed to go in, it would roll back down and stop farther from the hole. Moans could be heard all over the course. Darn it. I am going to have to miss this tournament and I was hoping to have a good cry.
Now here’s some late breaking news on this tournament given to me by General Manager Paul Richmond. The buffet will be free of charge to members and their spouses.
Donations will be accepted and all proceeds will go to the Wawenock Capital Campaign. Many thanks go to Reunion Station owners Dale and Sharleen Feltis. There will be a cash bar with karaoke and games. All those planning to attend the buffet dinner please RSVP by calling the Pro Shop at 563-3938.
For those, who cannot make the 2 p.m. shotgun start, the course will be set up for the tournament all day. Anyone may play the course until 2 p.m. and then it will be open to members only. Please call the Pro Shop to sign up for the scramble. Paul has created some difficult challenges on each hole, so come out and have some great fun.
Another week has past and the final match of the Presidents Cup Tournament between Sam Graves and Kyle Feltis suffered another delay. We may have our first snow fall before this thing is over.
