CLC Girls, Medomak Boys Win Boothbay Y Blasters Tournament

The CLC YMCA 5th and 6th grade girls travel team won their 3rd tournament of the season, with a win at the Blasters Tournament at Boothbay last weekend. They also collected two 2nd place finishes this season.

Boothbay 6th 25 – CLC Y 23The girls lost to Boothbay 6th grade in their opener game of the Blasters Tournament at the Boothbay YMCA. Scoring for CLC were Olivia York 8, Brie Wajer 8, Sophie Schumacher 3, Alyx York 2 and Brianna Genthner 2.CLC Y 35 – Boothbay 5th 8Saturday morning CLC Y beat Boothbay 5th grade 35-8. Scoring for CLC were Olivia York 4, Brie Wajer 12, Sophie Schumacher 4, Alyx York 4, Lauren Hunt 2, Bailey Plourde 2, Brianna Genthner 4, Christine Hilton 1, and Kate Laemmle 2.CLC Y 32 – Oak Hill 18Saturday night CLC Y went up against Oak Hill and won 32-18. Scoring for CLC were Olivia York 8, Brie Wajer 12, Alyx York 8, Bailey Plourde 2, and Brianna Genthner 2.CLC Y 19 – Boothbay 6th 15Sunday morning CLC Y met up with Boothbay 6th grade again and won 19-15 to advance to the championship game.

Scoring for CLC was Olivia York 7, Brie Wajer 6, Sophie Schumacher 2, and Brianna Genthner 3. Scoring for Boothbay were Nicole Rice 6, Avae Traina 5, Anna Baumm 2, and Hannah Morley 2.

CLC Y 26 – Bath 17CLC Y beat Bath 26-17 in the finals to win the Blasters Tournament. Championship. Scoring for CLC were Olivia York 2, Brie Wajer 8, Sophie Schumacher 3, Alyx York 7, Lauren Hunt 2, Bailey Plourde 2, Brianna Genthner 2. Bath was led by Emma Harrington with 9.Boys’ tournamentMedomak 6th grade travel team won the Boothbay Region YMCA Blasters basketball tournament last weekend. Medomak 6th has played in four tournaments this season, winning three of them and taking second once. They won the CLC YMCA, Warren Recreation and Boothbay Y tournaments, and placed second at the WCC tournament.

It was an all Medomak final in Boothbay, as Medomak 6th defeated Medomak 5th in the semifinals. Medomak beat Boothbay in their first game of the tournament, Oak Hill in their second game then beat Medomak 5th in the semifinals. Medomak 5th worked their way through the losers bracket to take on Medomak 6th again in the championship game. Medomak 6th won 31-21.

Scoring for Medomak 6th in the championship game were Nick DePatsy (MVP) 13, Jackson Vail 8, Cortland Fisher 3, David Herron 3, Zach Starr 3 and Ollie Brown 1. Scoring for Medomak 5th were Jonathan Allard 5, Cale Gee 4, Laken Harrington 3, Cameron Allaire 2, Taylor McLain 2, Cameron Martin 2, and Nick Grover 2.
