The CLC YMCA girls’ 5th and 6th grade travel team won the Brunswick Rec Department tournament last weekend. CLC defeated Brunswick 23-20 in their first game of the tournament on Saturday. Scoring for the local girls were Brie Wajer 12, Olivia York 4, Lauren Hunt 3, Sophie Schumacher 2, Brianna Genthner 1 and Alyx York 1. They topped Rockland 20-19 in their second game to advance to the finals where they met up with Gardiner. Scoring for CLC in the Rockland win were Wajer 7, York 3, Schumacher 3, York 3, Bailey Plourde 2, and Genthner 2.
CLC beat Gardiner 26-21 in the championship game. Scoring for CLC were York 12, Wajer 7, Hunt 4, Genthner 2 and Schumacher 1.
