CLC Y Boys, Wiscasset Girls Win WCC 3rd-4th Grade Tournament

CLC YMCA boys and Wiscasset girls won the 2010 Wiscasset Parks & Recreation Department’s 3rd & 4th grade basketball tournaments held at the Wiscasset Community Center on March 26-28.

Boys’ tournament

Wiscasset 22 – CLC Y 18Wiscasset nipped CLC Y 22-18 in the first game of the tournament Friday night. Scoring for Wiscasset were Zachary Reed 10, Jacob Lamoureux 10 and Nehemiah Brown 2. Scoring for CLC were Nathan Simmons 8, Sam Laemmle 2 and Jon Pinkham 2.Medomak 15 – Topsham 13Medomak beat Topsham by two in the second game of the tourney. Scoring for Medomak were Ryan Creamer 11, Alden McLain 2 and Colin Fournier 2. Scoring for Topsham were Cole Kelly 4, Tanner Greenleaf 2, Sean Roberts 2, and Owen Curnin 2.CLC Y 22 – Topsham 15CLC Y defeated Topsham 22-15 in game three. Scoring for CLC were Simmons 7, Teddy Matel 6, Pinkham 5 and S. Fink 4. Scoring for Topsham were Garrett Moody 8, Kelly 2, Blair Kopp 2 and Greenleaf 1.Wiscasset 18 – Medomak 17Wiscasset nipped Medomak by one in game four. Scoring for Wiscasset were Lamoureux 8, Reed 6, Max Sampson 2 and Martin 2. Scoring for Medomak were Ben Dever 6, Ethan Spear 4, Nathan Emerson 3, Creamer 2 and McLain 2.CLC Y 23 – Medomak 21CLC Y worked their way through the losers’ bracket, beating Medomak by two in the semifinals to advance to the championship game series with Wiscasset. Scoring for CLC were Pinkham 8, Matel 6, Fink 5 and Simmons 4. Scoring for Medomak were Creamer 12, Dever 5 and Fournier 4.CLC 18 – Wiscasset 17CLC came from behind to beat Wiscasset by one and force a second game for the championships. Wiscasset led 11-6 at the half, before CLC rebounded for a 12-6 edge in the 2nd half for the win. Scoring for CLC were Simmons 6, Pinkham 4, Fink 4, Matel 2, Gus Hunt 1 and Nolan Anderson 1. Scoring for Wiscasset were Reed 10, Lamoureux 3, Sampson 2 and Martin 2.CLC Y 19 – Wiscasset 18CLC Y rallied from an 11-6 halftime deficit to beat Wiscasset by one for the championship. Pinkham led the charge with nine points, including sinking seven of 11 foul shots in the 4th quarter. Also scoring for CLC were Simmons 6, Anderson 2 and Matel 2. Scoring for Wiscasset were Reed 6, Kobe Carrier 4, Lamoureux 3, Sampson 3, Lamoureux 2 and Martin 2.Girls’ tournament

Wiscasset 18 – Medomak 2Wiscasset beat Medomak in game one of the girls’ tournament. Scoring for Wiscasset were Lindsey Gordon 8, Grace Webber 6, Johann Marlowe 2 and Elle Dekker 2. Scoring for Medomak was Simmons with 2.Topsham 16 – Bath 12Lauren Sturgess netted 6 and Caitlyn Smith and Shausta Lamarre 2 each for Topsham. Scoring for Bath were Sierra Wallace 5, Mackenzie Johnson 5 and Claudia Serben 2.Wiscasset 14 – CLC Y 12Wiscasset nipped CLC Y by a basket. Scoring for Wiscasset were Gordon, 6, and Dekker and Webber, 4 each. Scoring for CLC were Khloe Poland 6, Anna Hatch 4 and Isabelle Gilbert 2.Bath 16 – Medomak 6Wallace scored 8 and Johnson and Hannah Card 4 each to lead Bath over Medomak. Scoring for Medomak were Hannah Maxcy and Maddy White two each.Wiscasset 16 – Topsham 15Wiscasset beat Topsham by one to advance to the championship game. Scoring for Wiscasset were Webber 6, Maive Blodgett 6, Marlowe 3 and Maisey True 1. Scoring for Topsham were Sturgess 9, Smith 2, Lamarre 2 and Abby Sirois 2.Bath 16 – CLC 12Bath defeated CLC Y 16-12 in game six. Scoring for Bath were Wallace 4, Madeline Mitchell 4, Serben 4 and Macie Gagne 2. Scoring for CLC were Gilbert 6, Hatch 4 and Ashlynn Leeman 2.Topsham 18 – Bath 7Topsham topped Bath to advance to the championship series. Scoring for Topsham were Sturgess 9, Smith 6, Lamarre 2 and Rebecca French 2. Scoring for Bath were Johnson 2, Card 2, Serben 2 and Wallace 1.Topsham 23 – Wiscasset 3Topsham beat Wiscasset to force a second game for the championship. Scoring for Topsham were Sturgess 10, Smith 6, Lamarre 4 and French 3. Scoring for Wiscasset were Webber 2 and Gordon 1.Wiscasset 9 – Topsham 6Wiscasset defended their home turf 9-6 to win the tournament. Scoring for Wiscasset were Dekker 3, Webber 2, Gordon 2 and True 2. Scoring for Topsham were Lamarre 4 and Sturgess 2.
