Longtime Boothbay Region High School boys basketball coach IJ Pinkham won the USA Today online poll as Northeast Region I high school basketball coach of the year.
Ten coaches nationwide, including Pinkham, will now compete in online voting for National Coach of the Year honors. Voting for the Northeast Coach of the Year honors was held from Jan. 22 to 30.
Pinkham has coached 43 years and amassed nearly 600 career wins. He has brought the Seahawks to the State title game five times.
