DB&T Little League softball team defeated The First 13-3 at Pemaquid Beach Field on Saturday to win the Lincoln Little League championship. Dorothy Hodus pitched a no-hitter (11B,13K) for the win.
Morgan Thompson took the loss for The First (5H,7K,6B).
The First took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Allison York was hit by a pitch, and scored on two errors.
DB&T plated five runs in the bottom of the first. Khloe Poland hit a lead off single and scored on a passed ball. Hodus reached on a dropped third strike and scored on an Isabelle Gilbert single. Constance Mullin reached on an error and she and Gilbert scored on passed balls. Abby Brewer walked and stole around the horn and scored.
The First pulled within two in the top of the third with two runs. Madeline York drew a walk and scored on passed balls. Ashlyn Leeman walked and scooted around the bases on passed balls.
DB&T scored five runs in the third and three in the fourth to open the game up. In the fifth , Emily Kelsey singled, Poland reached on a fielder’s choice and Hodus walked to load up the bases for RBI walks to Gilbert, Mia Hall and Hannah Corson, and an RBI fielder’s choice to Brewer.
Poland, Hodus and Gilbert reached on fielder’s choices in the fourth, and Mullin hit a two-run single.
Hitting for The First were Poland, Gilbert, Mullin, Hall and Kelsey with a single each.
