Wiscasset held a 14-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. The two teams battled back and forth for the lead in the second frame. Dennison gave Wiscasset the lead and a huge boost at the half when he stole the ball and dunked it.
Wiscasset dominated the second half, out scoring the Bulldogs 15-5 in the third quarter to build a 42-30 lead going into the final period.
“We picked up our defensive intensity and held them to five in the third quarter, that was the difference in the game. A big part of our success was rebounding, both offensively and defensively,” coach Matt Cook said.
Scoring for Wiscasset were Dennison 23, Cody Griffin 12 (7R), Hinkley 8 (10A,8R), Josh Hopkins 5 (8R), Jimmy Davis 4, Sumner Averill 4, and Alex Slack 2.
Scoring for Madison were Simon Elias 23, Cody Small 6, Sam Perkins 6, Ezra Gurley 5, and Matt Smith 3.
