The Diamondbacks won the Medomak Valley Little League championship 27-15 over the Fillies in Waldoboro on Saturday. The Diamondbacks batted through the lineup in four out of the five innings, thanks to 14 hits and 24 walks.
The Diamondbacks led 6-3, 12-4, 18-10, 22-11, and 27-11 at the end of the innings.
Lucy Jameson went four for four at the plate, walked, and scored five runs. Alyssa Creamer (two singles) and Steph Morse (one single) also scored five runs each. Zaniah Puchalski and Grace White (double) scored three runs each. Kristina Rolerson added two singles and Hannah Lee, Taylor Podrosky, Cameron Baines, and Brianna Bellany added a single each.
Hitting for the Fillies were Chloe Bossow (four runs) with a double and single, and Elle Ashmore, Autumn Ripley (three runs), and Madisyn Simmons a single each. Mackenzie Emerson and Rachel Readinger scored two runs each.
