Dirigo 10&11 Little League All-stars won the District 5 championships to earn a berth in the state tournament in Saco. Dirigo took on Holbrook in the opening game of the tournament at Maremont Little League Field in Saco on July 24, and won 8-2.
Ryan Creamer (1R,4K,2B,0H) got the start and went one and two-thirds innings, before being replaced by Dominic Denico (4 1/3I,1R,1H,5K,2B). The duo combined for a one hitter; a bunt single to Ben Spier in the third inning.
Alec Gagnon started and took the loss in four innings of work (3R, 4H,3K,5B).
Dirigo took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Ryan Creamer reached on a fielder’s choice, moved over on a Denico single and scored on a Sage Hapgood-Belanger single.
