Cape 24 – Medomak 7
Cape Elizabeth defeated Medomak 24-7 in their first game of the state 9&10 Little League softball tournament, held on Foster Field in Waldoboro on Sunday. Anna Cornell collected
the win. Stephanie Morse took the loss.
Cape Elizabeth batted around twice in the third inning to take a huge lead in their four inning mercy-rule win.
Hitting for Waldoboro were Autumn Ripley and Taylor Podrasky with a double each, and Morse, Eliza Nelson, Cameron Bains, and Baylee Stewart a single each. Hitting
for Cape were Cornell four singles, Abbey Agrondia, Kathryne Clay, and Katherine Callahan two singles each, Katharine Blackburn and Dana Schwatz a double each, and Esme Song,
Clara Parker, and Helene Rieger a single each.
Medomak scored one run in the second when Morse walked, stole second, and scored on passed balls. They rallied for six runs in the fourth on singles to Morse,
Nelson, Baines, and Stewart, a walk to Lucy Jameson and doubles to Ripley and Podrasky.
Biddeford 21 – Medomak 4
Biddeford defeated Medomak 9&10 softball all-stars 21-4 by four inning mercy ruling Sunday night to eliminate them from the state Little League playoffs.
Charlotte Donovan, Hanna Gosselin and Rachel Brask pitched in the win for Biddeford. Grace
White and Gabriella Parker pitched in the loss for Medomak.
Hitting for Medomak were Hanna Lee with two singles and Gabriella Parker one. Hitting for Biddeford were Charlotte Donovan with a triple and three singles, Chantelle
Bouchard and Jayme Walton two singles each, and Laura Perreault, Anna Lavigne and Aliyah Bureau a single each.
