Lincoln County grade 7 & 8 Eagle football team defeated Oak Hill 12-6 in overtime in the first round of the playoffs on Oct. 28. Isaac Charbonneau returned a fumble recovery 45 yards to give the Eagles a 6-0 lead. Oak Hill knotted the score, then had their extra point conversion run rejected for interference. Travis Creamer ran for a touchdown in overtime to lift Lincoln to victory.
Defensive standouts were Brandon Jewett, Nathan Towel and Charbonneau. The Eagles had a goal line stand in overtime.
“The Brunswick team was dominant at the line of scrimmage and despite a good effort by the Eagles, we just could not stop their running game,” coach Allen Tomasello said.
