The Lincoln Academy boys lacrosse team beat Winslow-Lawrence 12-4 on Monday, May 5 in Newcastle.
The Eagles held a tenuous 6-4 lead early in the third quarter before the offense rallied for six goals during the remainder of the second half as goalie Sean Cushing and the defense handcuffed the Outlaws the rest of the way.
Isaac Rich, who reached the 100 career goals milestone in LA’s previous game, scored five goals and doled out two assists. Thomas Mickael also had a big day, as the midfielder tallied four goals.
Also getting in the scorebook for Lincoln Academy were Nick Vanderbilt with two goals and an assist, Seamus Strout with a goal, and William Skiff with two assists.
Cushing had another huge game, as he notched 17 saves, most of which were in the first two quarters.
“Our goaltender made some big stops in the first half and really kept the momentum in our favor,” said Lincoln Academy head coach Tom Farrell. “We had issues clearing the ball early in the game and because of that we let the Outlaws keep it close.”
The Eagles improved to 3-2 on the season while Winslow-Lawrence dropped to 0-5.
