Lincoln Academy boys’ basketball team handled the elder Eagles in the annual Alumni game on Friday, 52-46. The Eagles rattled off seven straight points in the fourth quarter, led by three hoops from Matt Poole, with Ethan Wajer picking up two assists and Gage Peaslee one, to give the younger Eagles the cushion they needed to hold off the Alumni.
The Alumni led 16-14 after the first quarter. Andrew Feltis hit three 3-pointers and another basket for 11 points in the second frame to give the Eagles a 29-23 lead at the half. Lincoln maintained the lead throughout the second half.
Scoring for Lincoln were Feltis 14, Pat Mullin 10, Matt Poole 8, Everett Martin 5 (7R), Gage Peaslee 5, Ben McLain 4, Brandon Reilly 3 (4R) and Kyle Scherer 1 (6R,1S).
Scoring for the Alumni were Ben Buckland 10, Matt Ford 6, Derec Verney 6, Jesse Bagley 4, Shawn Elwell 4, Tyler Cyr 4, Kyle Feltis 3 (2R,2B,1S), Luke Alley 2, Devon Peaslee 2, Fred McLellan 2, Dave Prior 2 (4R,1S,1B) and Kirk Wright 1 (5R). Also playing for the Alumni were Chris Taylor, Ross Pushard and Kyle Wright. (5R)
