Lincoln Academy baseball’s team rallied from behind to beat Camden 4-2 on June 3 in their KVAC finale. The Eagles’ home game was played in Camden due to graduation set-up on the baseball field. Gavin Joannides went the distance in the win (8K, 5H, 3B).
Camden scored a run in the 1st and a run in the top of the 3rd to take a 2-0 lead. The Eagles rallied for four runs in the home half of the 3rd to take the lead for good.
Stephen Quinlan hit a lead-off single, moved over on a Dalton Leeman walk and Jeff Lamb on a fielder’s choice and scored when Ben McLain reached on an error. Lamb scored when McLain drew a wild throw when he stole second.
Brandon Reilly drove in a run when he reached on an error and Joannides singled in a run. The Eagles added a run in the 4th when Eric Morgner walked, moved over when Quinlan reached on an error and scored on a Lamb fielder’s choice.
Hitting for Lincoln were Quinlan, Lamb and Joannides with a single each. Hitting for Camden were Crockett with a double and single, and Zach Dufour, Landwehr and Taylor Gartley a single each.
