Lincoln Academy jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 19 minutes of play then coasted to a 3-1 win at Gardiner on Oct. 9. Brandon Reilly scored less than two minutes into the contest when he collected a failed defensive clear and connected to the upper left hand corner of the net on the first shot of the game.
Abe Hamilton scored two goals for the Eagles. The first came with 26:03 to play in the 1st half when Tiger keeper Joe Coughlin misplayed a Dalton Leeman shot and Hamilton was there to boot it home inside the near post for the Eagles. Hamilton’s second goal came off a rebounded Leeman shot with 20:52 to go in the half.
Lincoln’s bench saw plenty of playing action in 2nd half action. Kris Kimball spoiled the shutout when he scored on a breakaway with 10:20 to play.
Lincoln held a 19-11 edge in shots. Kyle Scherer made eight saves for the Eagles, and Coughlin and Ben Dickey combined for 10 saves for the Tigers.
