Lincoln Academy’s boys’ soccer team picked up two wins this week to finish their KVAC season with a 9-5 record. The Eagles defeated Nokomis 4-1 on Oct. 14, then wrapped up their season with a 2-0 win over Rockland Friday night under the lights.
Bo McLain put the Eagles up 2-0 at the half when he one timed a direct kick from Wajer from 18 yards out. Wajer struck again early in the 2nd half when he put in his own rebounded shot. Nokomis’s Eli Davis scored on a breakaway. Jian Giglia scored the final goal for the Eagles when he beat a defender deep on the right side.
On the defensive end, Ben McLain, Michael VanderPloeg and Nate Riley all made key stops on Nokomis breakaways.
Lincoln held a 31-8 advantage in shots. Kyle Scherer made fives saves and Merritt Wotton one for the Eagles. Wintle made 16 saves and Thomas Batchelder three for Nokomis.
Lincoln held a 23-3 advantage in shots. Gentry Burch made 13 stops in net for the Tigers, and Scherer three in net for the Eagles.
