Sacopee Valley boys and John Bapst girls won the State Class C track and field championships, held at Dover Foxcroft Academy in make-up action on June 9.
Boothbay’s Matt Forgues won the 1600 RW, missing the state record by under two seconds, in a time of 6:37.44 Seahawk Chase Brown placed second in the 3200 in 10:13 and fourth in the 1600 in 4:40.
Wiscasset high jumper Adriane Berry placed fourth in the high jump with a leap of five feet even. Brian Campbell placed sixth in the 400 in 53.42. Dan Casey took sixth in the shot put with personal best distance of 41’1.25″, bettering his MVC third place finish put by nine inches.
Wiscasset’s 4×100 relay team medalled with a seventh place finish in 46.49. Running a leg on the team were Joe Chapman, John McLeod, Ross Hanley and Campbell.
