Boothbay’s Matthew Forgues successfully defended his State Class C 1600 racewalk title on June 6 at Morse in a winning time of 7:07. Wiscasset’s Brandon Campbell was State Class C runner-up in the 300 hurdles in 40.74. Campbell just missed medalling in the 200 by 1/100th of a second with an eighth place finish in 24.09.
Wiscasset placed sixth in the 4×100 relay in 46.58 with Nick McLeod, Brandon Campbell, Brian Campbell and Cameron Grover running a leg.
Lady Redskin Adrianne Berry took fifth place in the State Class C high jump, clearing the bar at 5’8″.
The Redskins 4×400 relay placed ninth with Grover, Brad Whitaker, and the Campbell brothers, and their 4×800 relay took 11th with Alex Smelcer, Jared Snell, Dustin Dorr and Whitaker. Grover placed 13th in the 100 and Nick McLeod 17th.
Brian Campbell was 13th in the 400, and Whitaker 23rd in the 800. Krista Bailey was 13th in the racewalk, Ariel Brown 18th in the 400 and Morgan Dodge 21st in the 400.
Wiscasset boys placed 16th out of 27 teams. North Yarmouth Academy won the state team title. John Bapst won the girls’ team title.
