Jordan Friedland’s turkey must have tasted just a little better last week, even if he had to wait a couple days to eat it.
Friedland, a Damariscotta resident, spent Thanksgiving weekend in Massachusetts playing in a USTA tennis tournament.
Friedland dominated play in the Grande Meadows 14 Level 7 tournament, a USTA-sanctioned event. Friedland, the tournament’s No.1 seed, captured the singles championship without losing a set in his three matches. Friedland topped Baxter Stein of Westport, Conn, the second seed, 6-0, 7-6 (4), in the championship match.
