Thomas Gildersleeve, New Harbor, will make his third trip to the USA Hockey U18 Tier 2 National Ice Hockey Championships as part of the Maine Spartans Midget Major team.
The Spartans have gone to nationals three out of the past five years. The Spartans finished second in the New England District Tier 1 Regional Tournament to qualify for the National Championships.
The Spartans are five-time undefeated state champions.
Gildersleeve also plays ice hockey for North Yarmouth Academy. He is a captain on the team that is 13-2-1 and ranked sixth out of 24 teams in the New England Prep League. NYA also won the Chevrus Purple and Gold Tournament in December.
The national tournament will be held in Pittsburgh, Penn., April 1-5.
