Long time Lincoln Academy indoor track and field coach Betsy Grannis was named 2017 KVAC Class B Coach of the Year. Granis started the indoor program during the 2005-06 season. She has coached the outdoor track team since 2005.
“Coach Grannis is very deserving of this honor. Her athletes absolutely love her because she cares so much about them as individuals. Also, Betsy has done amazing things with our track programs. Our numbers are strong, we are more competitive, and the team unity she builds is amazing,” athletic director KJ Anastasio said.
“I was very surprised and honored to receive the award. Our program has grown tremendously since I started coaching and our girls team particularly has had much success the last few years. I feel lucky to work with such dedicated, respectful and all around wonderful athletes,” Grannis commented.
