Great Salt Bay School’s baseball team won their first Busline League championship Tuesday afternoon in Thomaston. The Cougars defeated Troy Howard 8-5 in drizzle and cold. Relief pitcher Jason Greenleaf collected the win (5K,1B,1H,3R) coming on in relief of starter Gus Hunt (3 1/3I, 5K,5B,0H,2R). The duo gave up just two hits.
Quincy Perry drove in three runs, and Colby Clark and Ben Carter one each for the Cougars.
GSB’s bus was escorted through town by the Damariscotta and Newcastle fire departments,the Damariscotta Police Department and Lincoln County Sheriff Department to help celebrate the win.
