Wiscasset High School senior swimmers John McLeod and Ross Hanley placed in the New England High School championships, held at UNH.
McLeod set two new WHS swim records at the meet, placing second in the 50 free in 22.69 and second in the 100 butterfly in 55.93. “Blink and you missed it,” coach Don Strout said of McLeod’s 50 freestyle race.
Hanley placed 4th in the 100 butterfly in a personal best time of 57.53. He also competed in the 100 backstroke with a personal best time of 59.33.
“It was a great way for them to finish their high school careers,” Strout said.
