The North Atlantic Figure Skating Club is pleased to announce that Devon Huntley, 17, has passed the Gold Dance Test. Huntley is the first skater representing North Atlantic to achieve this honor.
The Gold Dance test is the highest test in the test system of the United States Figure Skating Association and consists of 23 individual ice dance tests, which must be passed before a panel of judges. Huntley is a double Gold Medalist, having previously completed the requirements for the Senior Moves in the Field test last year.
She is coached by Kristin Andrews of Portland and Robert Yokabaskas of Cape Elizabeth. Huntley is a 2009 high honors graduate of Kents Hill School and will attend American University in Washington, DC in the fall. She plans to continue her skating on the Pentagon Area Inter-Collegiate Synchronized Skating team.
She is the daughter of Brian and Diane Huntley of Coopers Mills.
