GSB 6 – Boothbay 1
Hitting for GSB were Dustin Prior, Alex Tomasello and AJ Oliver two singles each and Travis Creamer an RBI triple in the win. Jason M. and Zach V. collected a single each for Boothbay.
Tim Farrar took the loss (6I,5K,7B,7H). Hitting for Medomak were Farrar, Clarence Porter and Josh Lee with one hit each.
The Cougars scored two runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Andrew Gallace walked, moved over on a bunt error put in play by Brandon Jewett and scored on a Dustin Prior single. Jewett came home on a suicide squeeze bunt from Derick Woodbury. GSB added a run in the 6th when Travis Creamer walked, stole second, went to third on a baulk and scored on a passed ball.
Hitting for GSB was Oliver with a triple and Creamer and Prior a single each. Josh Andrews had the only hit for Bristol to spoil Oliver’s no hitter.
Hitting for Wiscasset were Chandler Longfellow with a double and single, Shawn Chubbuck a double and Dylan McMahan and B. Goud a single each. GSB will take on the winner of the North division in the Busline League championships at Medomak on Thurs., June 10 at 3 p.m.
Medomak 17 – Lincolnville 0
The Cougars batted around in the 4th inning, scoring nine runs to seal the win. Taylor Oliver scored four runs, McKayla Brackett and Katie Riley three each, Sabrina Skinner, Jen Genthner, Danielle Pinkham and Leslie Sandefur two each and Margaret Skiff one for GSB. Alecia Faulkingham scored three runs, Colleen Hendricks and Kayla Gordon two each and Tylan Onarato, Charlene Reid and Abby Dunn one each for the Warriors.
Boothbay took a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning. S. Drugan walked and scored on an L. Morse double. Morse scored on a Courtney Chaney sacrifice.
Jefferson got one run back in the home half of the 1st. Andrea Call singled, stole to third and scored on an RBI sacrifice to Alyssa Smith. The Chargers tied the score in the 2nd. Abby Farrin reached on an error, Ashleigh Sisson walked, Avery Bond reached on a fielder’s choice to load the bases and Farrin came home on a fielder’s choice from Call.
Boothbay retook the lead in the 5th when Kia Graneng reached on a dropped third strike and stole around the horn.
Jefferson rallied for five runs in the 5th to take the lead for good. Nine batters went to the plate in the rally. Bond walked and Call and Miranda Sprague reached on errors to load up the bases for an RBI walk to Smith, two run single to Marissa White, RBI sacrifice to Brookes Jewett, and RBI error to Farrin.
Boothbay threatened in the top of the 7th with three runs on singles to Morse and McLellan to pull within one. With the tying run on third, Kaylee Abbott caught a fly ball in right field for the final out.
Hitting for Jefferson were Call, Sprague, and White with a single each. Hitting for Boothbay were Morse with two doubles and a single and McLellan a single.
Cassie Roach, Lauren Guptill, Olivia Blachet and Taylor Mason had a double and single each and Kristy Severson a single for Medomak in the win.
Kristy Severson struck out 12 in the win.
The Chargers scored three runs in the home half of the sixth to take the lead. Morgan Achorn walked, and with two outs, Kaylee Abbott walked to set up an RBI single to Farrin and two run single to Miranda Achorn. Bristol pulled within one in the 7th when Heather Gagnon walked and scored on a Logan Low single. Low was stranded at third when Farrin picked up a strikeout to end the game.
Hitting for Jefferson were Miranda Achorn and Farrin with two each and Alyssa Smith and Abbott one each. Hitting for Bristol were Hughes with a triple, and Trayers, Konitzky, and Pendleton a single each.
Jefferson will take on the winner of the Medomak and Rockland game (June 9) at Medomak on Thurs., June 10 at 3 p.m.
