Girls’ basketball
GSB 22 – Bristol 16
The Lady Cougars opened their Grade 7 Busline League basketball season with a 22-16 win over Bristol on Nov. 4. Sinead Miller netted 8, Katie Riley 6, Danielle Pinkham 4 and Shayna Bartolotta and Taylor Oliver 2 each. Scoring for Bristol were Kylie Pendleton 6, Kara Mullin 4 and Gretchen Konitzky, Kyleigh Plourde and Lindsey Crider with 2 each.
St. George 29 – GSB 26
The Cougars battled from behind to take the lead over St. George in the 4th quarter, but were unable to hold on, falling by three, thanks to a 20-point effort from Bailee Cox. Scoring for GSB were, Riley 8, Megan Krah 6, Leslie Sandefur 6, Camille Lazzari 4, and Bartolotta 2.
Bristol 28 – Nobleboro 24
The Lady Blue Devils topped the Lions on Nov. 6. Scoring for Bristol were Mullin 12, Crider 8, Konitzky 4, Plourde 2, and Dyer 2. Scoring for Nobleboro were McKayla Brackett 12, Krystal Gillison 8, and Alyx York and Abbie Healey 2 each.
GSB 26 – Hope 13
GSB traveled to Hope and doubled up the Hawks 26-13. A stifling defense propelled the Cougars to a 20-point first half lead. Scoring for the Cougars were Leslie Sandefur 8, Meagan Krah 6, Danielle Pinkham 6, Katie Riley 4, Taylor Oliver 2. Hope was led by Elizbeth Sherfey with 7.
Boys’ basketball
GSB 54 – Bristol 35
GSB School’s Grade 7 boys’ basketball team opened their Busline League season with a 54-35 win over Bristol. AJ Oliver netted 16, Killian Miller 14, Spencer Alden 12, Tyler Ward 4, Tyler Peters 4, Derrick Woodbury 2, and Griffin Dodge 2. Scoring for Bristol were Lucas Bickford 14, Tyler Stevens 9, Brandon Salerno 4, and Greg Anderson, Austin Armstrong, Liam Anderson, and Ethan Knight scored 2 each.
Nobleboro 63 – Bristol 21
Three Lions scored in double figures to lead Nobleboro to victory over Bristol. Brady Leeman netted 14, Brett Cowan 12, Colton Spear 10, Nick Morton 6, Kolt Wallace 6, Kobe Lincoln 5, Lucas 4, Jacob Robison 4, and Kent Little 2. Scoring for Bristol were Anderson 7, Dawson 4, Bickford 4, and Stevens, Armstrong, and Baptist with 2 each.
