Lincoln Academy boys’ cross country team placed sixth in an eight team meet at Maranacook on Sept. 3 in their KVAC opener. Mt.Ararat placed five scoring runners in the top 12 to win the meet with 33 points, followed by Maranacook 45, Monmouth 95, Morse 150, Leavitt 147, Lincoln 161 and Oxford Hills 169. Mt.’s Andy R-Packett was the race winner in 18:21.
Luca Keushguerian was the top Eagle runner in 16th place in 20:35. Nick Smelcer placed 33rd in 21:55; Alex Tomasello 37th in 22:23; Kevin Sandefur 53rd in 24:44 and Tyler Ward 62nd in 27:00 to complete the scoring five. Also running for Lincoln Academy were 63. Julian Frink, 27:02; 68. Josh Richards, 28:02; 72. Daniel Mayer, 28:48; 76. Tim Wells, 29:54; and 77. Matt Poland.
Abby Mace won the girls’ race for Maranacook in 19:42. Lincoln Academy had just two runners. Hannah Fake placed 16th in 25:26 and Teiga Martin 17th in 25:27 out of a field of 69 runners.
