Lincoln Academy boys’ lacrosse team wrapped up their regular season with a four game win streak to improve to 8-4. The Eagles will play at Morse on June 4 for the KVAC championship. The time had not been set at press time. When the game is scheduled it will be posted on The Lincoln County News website, www.mainelincolncountynews.com.
The Eagles defense was led by Jan Taliento with 15 ground balls. Martin Shott had 7 saves in net for Lincoln and Caleb Provost 6 saves for Oak Hill.
The Eagles led by as many as three, before Gardiner came roaring back to pull within one. “We played the final one and a half minutes with two men down in the penalty box,” but did not let them score, Wallace added.
Wajer led the offensive charge with 5 goals. Stone added a goal and 2 assists and Wahle a goal. Hayden Brown made 16 stops in net for the Eagles. Scoring for Gardiner were Jason Ledoux with 3, and Dylan Hensbee, Caleb Smith and Austin Moore one each.
Vanderploeg was the Newcastle Public House player of the week.
Brown made 11 saves and Shott two. Jacob Fildermen made 13 stops for Camden.
“Our goalies and defense have been keeping us alive. Hayden (Brown) has been a real wall, and backup Martin (Shott),” has played well, Wallace added.
