Lincoln Academy softball defeated Medomak Valley 10-0 Friday in Waldoboro. Abby Farrin struck out 12 in the win (0B,4H). Hannah Marks collected the loss (11K,1B,12H).
The Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Chloe Hallowell reached on a bunt single and scored on a Miranda Achorn single. They added two runs in the second. Danielle Pinkham singled and scored on an Alyssa Smith single. Smith scored on a passed ball.
Lincoln batted around in the fourth inning, scoring seven runs. Alyx York singled and scored on a Pinkham triple. Hitting RBI singles in the inning were Kayla Brackett, Hallowell, Morgan Achorn, Miranda Achorn, and Farrin.
Hitting for Lincoln were Miranda Achorn three singles, Pinkham with a triple and single, Hallowell and Smith two singles each, and Morgan Achorn, Farrin, A. York, and Jen Genthner a single each. Hitting for Medomak were Marks and Maggie Cox a double each, and McKenzie Wing and Vanessa Rancourt a single each.
Lincoln 19 – Mt. View 3
The Lady Eagles scored early and often in their 19-3 win at Mt. View on May 14. Abby Farrin collected the win in four innings of work (4K,3H,2B) and Morgan Achorn the save (3I,4K,2H,3B).
Pouter took the loss for the Mustangs (16H).
Hitting for Lincoln were Miranda Achorn a double and 3 singles (4RBI), Alyx York a triple and 2 singles (3RBI), Jen Genthner a double and single (2RBI), Farrin (2RBI), Chloe Hallowell (2RBI), Logan Low 2 singles each, and Danielle Pinkham a single (2RBI).
Hitting for Mt. View were Boulay and Reynolds two singles each and Router one.
Lincoln 5 – Erskine 0
Lincoln Academy softball won the battle of the Eagles Tuesday afternoon in Newcastle. Abby Farrin struck out 11 (3B,5H). Chamberlin took the loss for Erskine.
Cassidy Bodley led off the game with a walk and scored on a Morgan Achorn triple. Farrin drove in Achorn with a single.
Chloe Hallowell hit a two run triple in the third, and was thrown out at the plate trying to stretch it to a homerun. Lincoln added a run in the fifth when Miranda Achorn singled home Hallowell.
Hitting for the Eagles were Hallowell with a triple and single, Farrin two singles, Morgan Achorn a triple and single, and Miranda Achorn, Jen Genthner, Alyx York, Olivia York, and Kayla Brackett a single each.
“Erskine pitcher Chamberlain had a scare in the second (inning) taking an Alyx York line drive off the shin,” LA coach Tom Nelson said. “Showing grit and toughness she continued, and pitched well allowing the Erskine defense to make plays. Center fielder Avery Bond was a standout both defensively and offensively, driving a line shot double to left field in the first.”
Also hitting for Erskine were Boucher, A. Gayer, Chamberlain, and McLoggan with a hit each.
