Lincoln Academy girls’ basketball team picked up their second win of the season Tuesday night at Rockland to improve their record to 2-2. The Lady Eagles jumped on Rockland early, leading 18-5 at the quarter break.
Lincoln connected 25 of 30 free throws. “That has been our problem, we’ve up and down all year,” coach Conrad Lewis said of the Eagles at the foul line. Katherine Bolster connected on 7 of 8, Marni Jones 7 of 9 and Kelsey Schwarz 6 of 7 in the win.
Lincoln led 40-17 at the half, 53-24 at the end of three, then coasted to a 68-45 win.
Scoring for the Eagles were Bolster 18, Laura Soohey 15, Jones 10, Jenn Genthner 10 (varsity debut), Schwarz 8, Merissa Look 5 and Rachel Hughes 2. Scoring for Rockland were Hannah Plourde 20, Phoebe Ferriaolo 8, Danica Hooper 6, Casey Carroll 4, Brooke Dugan 3 and Emma Spencer 1.
