Lincoln Academy’s girls’ swim team won their season opener in Wiscasset Friday night. The Lady Eagles scored 104, to Erskine Academy’s 70 and Wiscasset’s 37.
Lincoln won all three relays and won six individual races. Kara Mullin won the 200 IM in 2:31 and the 500 free in 6:11. Heidi Ziegra won the 100 fly in 1:08 and 100 back in 1:09.
Valeska Vaughn won the 200 free in 2:18 and the 50 free in 22.47. Olivia Pennington won the 100 free in 1:04, and was second in the 100 back in 1:10. Carolyn MacDonald was second in the 500 free in 7:17 and third in the 50 free in 30.54. Emily Whitaker took fourth in the 200 free in 3:14 and fifth in the 100 breast in 1:50. Holly Stegna was third in the 100 free in 1:15 and sixth in the 200 IM in 3:05. Miranda Boe took sixth in the 100 breast in 1:51.
The Eagles won the 200 medley relay in 2:15 with Pennington, MacDonald, Ziegra and Stegna; the 200 free relay in 1:56 with Ziegra, Boe, Pennnington and Vaughn; and the 400 free relay in 4:31 with Mullin, MacDonald, Stegna and Vaughn.
Julia West set a new Wiscasset High School record in the 100 breast, beating Rachel Hanley 2006 record in a time of 1:19.51. West also placed second in the 200 IM in 2:43. Sarah Hanley took second in the 100 fly in 1:18 and third in the 200 IM in 2:49. Maeve Carlson was fourth in the 100 free in 1:21 and fifth in the 50 free in 34.97. Abby Foster was fourth in the 100 back in 1:52 and sixth in the 50 free in 35.93. Alyssa Urquhart was fourth in the 100 breast in 1:49 and sixth in the 100 free in 1:26.
Wiscasset girls placed second in the 200 free relay in 2:13 with West, Carlson, Urquhart and Hanley swimming a leg; and third in the 200 medley relay in 2:28 with West, Hanley, Urquhart and Carlson.
Erskine Academy won the boys’ meet with 72 points, followed by Lincoln 47 and Wiscasset 41.
Eagle Will Hadden won two events, the 50 free in 23.99 and the 100 back in 1:05. Griffin Han-Lalime was second in the 500 free in 7:25 and third in the 200 free in 2:31. Luke Levesque was second in the 100 breast in 1:34 and fourth in the 200 free in 3:09. Mat Poland took third in the 100 free in 1:24 and sixth in the 100 back in 1:55. Sam Zaidi was fifth in the 100 free in 1:44.
Lincoln boys placed third in the 200 free relay in 2:09 with Levesque, Jason Berry, Josh Richards and Hadden, and third in the 400 free relay in 6:02 with Richards, Zaidi, Poland and Berry.
Ryan Hanley won the 200 IM for Wiscasset in 2:22 and was second in the 100 back in 1:09. Matt Mills won the 100 breast in 1:29. Camden Reiss was third in the 50 free in 30.88 and 100 back in 1:20. Kyle Viele was fourth in the 100 free in 1:33 and fifth in the 50 free in 38.09.
Wiscasset placed second in the 400 free relay in 4:59, and second in the 200 free relay in 2:09 with Mills, Reiss, Viele and Hanley.
