Waterville got the rebound, and eventually stuck a three-pointer with one second left to cut the lead to four. “Instead of going into the 4th with a seven-point lead and the momentum, we went in with a four-point lead and no momentum,” Lewis said.
Waterville built on that momentum to outscore Lincoln 21-7 in the final frame to pull out a 10-point win. Jennifer Nale was a big part of the comeback bid, scoring 10 of her game high 26 points in the 4th quarter. The Panthers hit 10 three-pointers in the win and only six two-pointers. “The kids did really well taking away their inside game. They just hit outside,” Lewis said.
Waterville led 16-10 at the quarter, 25-21 at the half and Lincoln led 39-35 at the end of three.
