In their maiden flight in the South Class A girls basketball tournament, the Lady Eagles of Lincoln Academy were plucked by the Hawks of Marshwood 74-24, Monday afternoon at the Portland Expo.
Lincoln mustered just six baskets from the floor in the game. Marshwood jumped out to a 25-4 first quarter lead, thanks to an aggressive full court press and superb foul shooting (9 of 9 in first period). They continued to dominate, leading 46-12 at the half and 58-15 at the end of three.
Lincoln was led by Kortney McKenna and Maddy York with 6 each. Marshwood was led by Natalie Herbold 16, Miranda Montgomery 10 and Nathalie Clavette 8.
