Medomak Valley girls’ soccer team defeated Lincoln Academy 2-1 on Saturday during their Homecoming match-up to improve to 5-0. The Panthers jumped out to a 1-0 lead with 14 minutes to play in the 1st half when Alanna Vose sent a through-pass out of the Panther backfield to a breaking Taylor Keefe down the middle. Keefe took it straight to the net to beat Emma Lazzari for the go ahead goal.
Julie Ennamorati put Medomak up 2-0 with eight minutes to play in the 2nd half off a set play on a corner kick taken by Kasey Benner. Benner passed to Nicole Peterson in the wing fullback position, who fed Ennamorati. Sara Komorowski scored for the Eagles 1:18 later on a direct kick from 25 yards out.
Medomak held a 12-8 advantage in shots. Ericka Christensen made six saves for the Panthers and Lazzari nine for the Eagles.
Camden handed the Lady Eagles a 3-0 loss Monday night. Chelsey Ettinger, Kristina Alex and Julie Gowesky scored for the Windjammers and Jackay Richards and Maddy Smeaton had an assist each.
Camden held a 19-12 edge in shots. Lazzari made 15 saves in net for the Eagles, and Lindsay Bumbalo six saves in net for the Jammers.
MCI pulled within one when Ashley Kitchin put away a pass from Paula Arias. Ennamorati finished out the scoring on a Benner corner kick.
Medomak held a 19-4 advantage in shots. Ericka Christensen made three saves for the Panthers and Ashley Ridley seven for MCI.
