Lady Panthers Season Going Purr-fectly

Medomak softball beat Nokomis and Oak Hill this week to keep their undefeated streak intact.

Medomak 3 – Nokomis 0Medomak softball picked up a big 3-0 win over Nokomis on May 11. Desiree Benner (3H, 2B) struck out 12 to earn her second shutout of the year. Sarah Packard took the loss (3K, 7H, 0B).

After three scoreless innings, the Lady Panthers rallied for 3 runs in the 4th. Kasey Benner singled and scored on an Ericka Christensen double. Heidi Obuchon singled, and Jenna Tracy drove in 2 runs with a single.

Hitting for Medomak were Vanessa Davis with 2, and Lindsay Ranquist, K. Benner, Christensen, Obuchon and Tracy 1 each. Hitting for Nokomis were Taylor Lovely with 2 and Becky Orcutt with a single.

Medomak 3 – Oak Hill 2Medomak took a 3-0 lead in the 2nd inning, and held off the Raiders in the 6th to win 3-2 on May 13 in Sabattus to pick up their ninth straight win in nine starts. Desiree Benner collected the win (8K, 4B, 3H), and Lauren Hall took the loss (5K, 6H, 1HP) in a classic pitcher’s duel.

Medomak took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st on a Vanessa Davis single and Kasey Benner RBI triple. They added two runs in the 2nd. Jenn Tracy was hit by a pitch, moved over on an Alanna Vose sacrifice. Taylor Simmons reached on an error. The Panthers made the Raiders pay with a two run single from Davis for the winning run.

Oak Hill threatened in the 6th on a Taylor Fillion single, Lauren Hall walk and Kortni Michaud two run single.

Hitting for Medomak: Davis hit 3 singles, Benner and Vose a triple each, and Amanda Hendrikson a single. Hitting for Oak Hill were Michaud, Becca Tucci and Fillion: a single each.
