Medomak Valley girls soccer team won a North Class B quarter-final game over John Baptst on Tuesday, Oct. 24 in the Eagles nest at Lincoln Academy. The game location was moved due to wet field conditions at Medomak.
Scarlett Flint put the Panthers on the boards early on a through pass from Rachel Barbour. less than 10 minutes into the contest. Haylee Chandler put Medomak up 2-0 at the half when she curled in a corner kick mid-way through the half. Flint made it a 3-0 game less than a minute into the second half on a through ball from Grace Townsend. Flint dodged a couple of defenders then rocketed a high shot off Crusader keeper Ruby Dwyer and into the net. Flint completed the hat trick a minute and a half later on a nice Panther passing series. Rachel Richardson set up the goal with a long through ball to Chandler, who crossed the ball to Flint.
Medomak held a 27-18 edge in shots. Chloe Fox earned the shut out with several big saves on hard shots. Fox had 16 saves for the Panthers, and Dwyer 14 for John Bapst.
Medomak will host Ellsworth on Saturday, Oct.28 at 12 noon in a North B semi-final match.
