Lady Panthers Split Games

Medomak 9 – MCI 5After three scoreless innings, MCI took a 2-0 lead in the top of the 4th. Medomak scored four in the home half to take the lead. The Huskies plated three in the 5th to lead 5-4, before the Lady Panthers scored three in the 5th and two in the 6th to pull out a 9-5 win at home May 7.

Kayla Santheson struck out 10 in the win (7H,3B). Kennedy took the loss (8H,4K,0B).

Santheson started the four run rally in the 4th with a double, Lindsay Ranquist singled, Alanna Vose reached on an error and Jessica Koon on a fielder’s choice and all four scored. They added three runs in the 3rd to take the lead for good. Vanessa Davis hit a triple and scored on a Mallory Conary sacrifice bunt. Benner reached on an error and pinch runner Amanda Hendrickson stole second and scored on a Ranquist double. Vose followed with an RBI single.

The Lady Panthers added two runs in the 6th. Heidi Obuchon reached on an error, Davis singled, Conary hit a sacrifice bunt and Santheson hit a two run triple.

Hitting for Medomak were Santheson with a triple and double, Davis with a triple and single, Ranquist a double and single, and Benner and Vose a single each. Hitting for MCI were Kaitlyn Sasa with a triple and single, Victoria Drake two singles, Kennedy a triple, Meghan Orchard a double and Kat Smedberg a single.Maranacook 3 – Medomak 2The Bears and Panthers battled through six scoreless innings, before Maranacook took full advantage of two errors, two fielder’s choices and an RBI single from Lindsey Cochrane in the 7th inning to win.

Medomak scored two runs in the bottom of the inning, but were unable to push the tying run across the plate. Mallory Conary hit a double, Kayla Santheson was hit by a pitch and both scored on a Lindsay Ranquist single.

Santheson took the loss (7K,3H,0B) and Maxwell collected the win (14K,2H,0B) Miraculously neither pitcher walked a batter in the bitter cold and windy game.

Conary had a double and Ranquist a single for Medomak. Cochrane had two hits and Shelly Audette one for the Bears.

Medomak’s record is 5-2.
