Wiscasset girls’ soccer team ended their Mt. Valley Conference season with an exclamation point on Monday, beating Boothbay 3-0 under the lights in Wiscasset. With the win, the Lady Wolverines end their season at 4-10.
Wiscasset put the ball on net early and often in the 1st half, with Mikayla McFetridge stopping nine 1st half shots. Shania Marr broke the stalemate with 6:37 to play in the half when she one-timed a crossing pass from Sarah Hanley in the penalty box.
Marr struck again less than a minute into the 2nd half on a through pass from Hanley. Senior Abby Foster scored her first goal of the season with 20:53 to go on a high shot from 18 yards out. Maddy Wehrle collected the assist.
Wiscasset held a 19 to 13 edge in shots. Caroline Footer made nine saves for Wiscasset, and Kayla Gordon three. McFetridge made 13 saves for Boothbay.
