Leavitt won the KVAC golf Shootout on Sept. 26 at Rockland Golf Course. The top seed Hornets tried to get the playoff match changed to a different date because of difficulties getting a bus. They were told the championship was going on as scheduled, so scrambled and arrived in Rockland with a few minutes to spare. The lack of warm-up time did not impact their game as they shot a team round 175 to beat out nearest competitor Waterville with a 186. Medomak and Belfast shot 189’s.
Leavitt’s Ruby Haylock and Belfast’s Thomas Parker tied for medalist with 41’s.
Carson Murphy shot a 44 for Medomak, and teammates Sean Sebrey a 45, Merritt Gould a 49, Garret Hutchins a 55, Tyler Metcalf a 51 and Adam Berry a 65.
