Over 160 runners braved hot and humid weather on Saturday in the ninth running of the Strawberry Shortcake Shuffle 5 K in Damariscotta. All proceeds from the race benefit the non-profit organization Healthy Kids.
Paul Leeman, 37, of Round Pond, was the race winner in a time of 19:17, beating out second place finisher Jordan Friedland (19:41). Lincoln Academy graduate Mei-Ning Langworthy, 37, of Topsham, was the first female finisher in 22:43, beating out Jessica Hurt by 13 seconds.
