Lincoln County 11-12 Little League softball All-stars defeated Rockland 11-6 Saturday morning in Rockport. Danielle Pinkham went the distance in the win (1K, 1HP, 6B, 3H). Rockland’s first three batters collected hits, before Pinkham buckled down on the mound and did not give up another hit for the remaining six innings.
Rockland jumped out to a 4-0 lead scoring two runs in the 1st inning and two in the 2nd inning. Ashley Gardner led off with a double and Brittany Rytky (RBI) and C. Williams singled in the 1st. In the 2nd inning, Rytky and Williams reached on fielder’s choices, A. Oakes hit an RBI single and Williams scored on an error.
With two outs in the 3rd, Lincoln rallied for six runs to take the lead. Brittany Sprague and Jen Genthner singled and scored on a Pinkham single. Taylor Poland hit an RBI single, Ashley Mason and Logan Molt (RBI) reached on errors, Marina Welton drove in a run on a fielder’s choice, and Chloe Hallowell singled in a run.
Rockland scrambled back in the top of the 5th with two runs to knot the score. M. Rosa reached on an error and scored on an error put in play by E. Provost. Gardiner drove in Provost when she reached on a fielder’s choice.
Lincoln rallied for five runs in the 5th to win. McKenna Squires hit a lead off single, Hallowell walked, Sprague drove in a run on an error, and Taylor Oliver singled in a run. Poland walked to load up the bases for a two run single to Mason and RBI fielder’s choice to Logan Molt.
Hitting for Lincoln County were Oliver, two singles, and Hallowell, Sprague, Genthner, Pinkham, Poland, Mason, and Welton, a single each.
