Lincoln County 11 and 12 softball all-stars defeated Waldoboro 15-0 by a four inning mercy ruling Monday night in Camden. Danielle Pinkham pitched a two hitter in the win. “She pitched a gem,” coach Roy Molt said. Molt said the shutout was a “testament to our defense as well.”
Lincoln County shut Waldoboro down in order in the first three innings. Waldoboro’s Laura Dyer led off the 4th with a single. Vanessa Rancourt followed with a single, but was picked off between first and second.
Lincoln scored two runs in the 2nd inning on a two run double to Brittany Sprague. They added six in the 3rd with Marina Welton driving in two runs with a single. Also hitting for Lincoln were Taylor Oliver with two hits and Chloe Hallowell, Ashley Mason, Mckenna Squires, Taylor Poland, Logan Molt, Bayley Pendleton, and Pinkham one each.
Lincoln advances in District 2 play on Sat., July 11 at 9:30 a.m. at Rockport. With the loss, Waldoboro was eliminated from the tournament.
